How to get on the first page of Google? Search Engine Optimization – the easy five tips

SEO might just be the most hottest topic considering digital marketing. The hype never stopped and no surprise there, because everyone wants to be visible. Me included. As a long time digital entrepreneur I will now give you five easiest steps to make sure your blog or media will be in the top pages of Google.

Of course there’s time aspect. You need to be patient. As the web pioneer Chris Coyer put it in 2005 in his Envato interview:

With anything I've ever done and had any success at all is because I sat and just did it and kept doing it for a long time. Even things like SEO is like that. It's kind of just like... "how do I get higher on Google for my site?" Well, you could blog for eight years about that subject.

1. Make a blog a part of your website

It always amazes me many companies use separate blogging platform like Blogspot or others to promote their content. If people go to read the content directly on your website and like what they see, they will share the site in their social media, thus boost your visibility, sales and SEO. If you have blog as separate, it is much harder and time consuming to get the gain for your actual website.

So make a blog a part of your website. It helps.

2. Write useful content

The content is everything, but it has to be useful. People need to find what they are looking for. And they preferably need to like the content. That way Google algoritms will also know that your site is meaningful and will raise your status.

3. Write often enough

Google appreciates the domain names that are registered in the pre-Internet era, but the site needs to have content that has been updated. More frequent the updates, more visibility in Search Engines. So write at least weekly.

4. Use rich languages with right keywords

Do not stuff the blog post with words separated by commas. That’s olds-chool keyword stuffing tactics and will get you punished by Google (meaning, they will lower your ranking). Instead, use rich language and make sure your actual words are inside the text. That way not only the visitor will find what he or she is looking for, the content will be readable.

5. Use categories and tags

Another often ignored part is not to use any links inside the blogs. In WordPress environments there are tags and categories built. They will make the content more findable, easier to navigate and most importantly; found from Google. So use them. Use tags wildly while keeping the keywords fitting. Use categories more carefully so they will match the content.

That’s all folks! Happy SEOing!
